Helio is a Swiss startup based in Zurich and is building the first carbon-aware cloud: By increasing the utilization rates of data centers worldwide (over 80% of the resources are not being used), accelerating the adaption of green energy sources (data centers consume around 5% of the global energy and are responsible for the same amount of Green House Gas as the aviation industry), and extending the lifetime of the hardware, Helio lowers the emissions of the cloud industry significantly.

📒 Job Description

Work closely with our team of Senior Cloud Native Software Engineers to develop an amazing customer experience for our end-users. You’ll be responsible for building Electron based Desktop applications and their Node.Js-based server-side APIs and Web Applications.

  • Our office is situated in Zurich, Switzerland.
  • The job is intended to be fully remote. Europe is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication. German language skills are a plus.

🤝 You’ll be a great fit for the job if you

  • Possess 5+ years of experience with Node, TypeScript, Tailwind, React, and Next.js.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of UI/UX principles and apply design fundamentals in your work.
  • Showcase meticulous attention to detail, primarily related to typography, spacing, color palettes, visual hierarchy, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Thrive in an environment of fast-changing requirements.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

  • Implement web and electron apps using Node.js, React.js, and Tailwind, ensuring smooth animations and transitions.
  • Maintain a high code standard, including structure, documentation, and bug management.
  • Translate design concepts into functional, visually appealing, and intuitive interfaces.
  • Collaborate with our growth team, providing valuable insights and feedback.
  • Ensure designs function and appear consistently across different browsers and devices.
